It has been an incredible couple weeks on campus! Read some snapshots of what God is doing on campus including a student initiated Faith Week of evangelism, students interested in working with Cru here at U-M and around the world, a packed house for Veritas Forum, and a student placing her faith in Jesus.
One analogy that is used to describe campus ministry is pushing a large heavy ball over the top of a hill. It’s labor-intensive and difficult for awhile while pushing the ball up the hill. After you crest the hill the ball acquires momentum of its own, and it’s all you can do to keep up. Having endured some up and down cycles over the years here at Michigan, I’m seeing evidence that we have crested the hill and are beginning to see momentum toward a movement that keeps on growing.
While we don’t record our talks at our weekly meeting, Nate did speak at our church, Grace Bible Church. He spoke to the question: Why does God choose to use a messed up group like the church? This relates very much to our work on campus and how we approach students to talk to them about our faith. Our focus can’t be on ourselves, how we act or the things we avoid. Our focus has to be on the true treasue and source of life, Jesus Christ.
What drives everything we do are these three aspects of our ministry: Win, Build, Send. Learn more about these core elements, our DNA, in this month’s newsletter. Also see the key events coming up this semester. See a few pictures from our vacation out west along with the Kids’ Column.
“What surprised you most about America?” I asked a student from Saudi Arabia. Read his response and how we are reaching out to students throughout the city of Chicago in this month’s newsletter.

What do you get when you combine spring break, Florida beaches, and college students? Beyond the things you would expect with that combination, you also get an incredible movement of God.
While fall semester has more of a focus on reaching new students, winter semester has more of a focus on developing students into life-long laborers of Christ. Read about some of the ways we develop them.
Also read about Nate’s spring break plans, an upcoming outreach 5K race, Kids’ Column (including Andrew talking about being baptized), and pictures.
